You can do that by checking CSA’s National Registration database (aretheyregistered.ca). If they are not registered, that usually indicates a red flag. CSA’s Investor Alert database (securities-administrators.ca/investor-alerts) is also a helpful tool to see if the company soliciting you has already been flagged locally or nationally.
